This public ledger backs the section Where is the search button (magnifying glass)?,
written for users who asked on October 20 why a magnifying glass suddenly appeared. Luckgram iOS source links are
pinned to release commits: 2.4.0 7219b83, 2.4.1 (build 628) 17a6d9a, 2.6.3 (build 721) f42e2ad, 2.6.4
(build 725) f75b666 and the 2.6.5 beta 7725236; each version is read from versions.json at that commit.
Telegram’s upstream source is pinned to fb0e62b. The App Store version was read from Apple’s lookup API on
October 23, 2026. Source shows what a build can display; it does not prove what a given device shows.
| Page | Statement | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| features/profiles-and-folders.md | The magnifying glass is Telegram’s own tab bar search, not a separate Luckgram feature | Telegram-iOS ViewController.swift:265-273 (public struct TabBarSearchState in Telegram’s own Display module) · the same struct in Luckgram ViewController.swift:225-233 and setter :784 (updateTabBarSearchState) |
| It is drawn at the right end of the tab bar and opens search when tapped | TabBarContollerNode.swift:269-271 (search: self.currentController?.tabBarSearchState.flatMap) · TabBarComponent.swift:902-913 (inactive: x: availableSize.width - searchSize.width) · :921-926 (NavigationSearchView(action: ... component.search?.activate()) |
|
| Shown on the Chats, Contacts, Calls, Settings and Luckgram tabs in 2.6.3 | versions.json:2 ("app": "2.6.3") · ChatListController.swift:879 · ContactsController.swift:230 · CallListController.swift:183 · PeerInfoScreen.swift:7001 (Settings) · TelegramRootController.swift:381-386 (assistant tab titled "Luckgram"); each calls updateTabBarSearchState(ViewController.TabBarSearchState(isActive: false), ...) |
|
| It first appears in 2.4.1 | 2.4.1 versions.json:2 · 2.4.1 ChatListController.swift:851 (the same call); 2.4.0 (versions.json:2) has no updateTabBarSearchState call (git grep at 7219b83 finds none) |
|
| Luckgram 2.6.4 no longer shows it | 2.6.4 versions.json:2 ("app": "2.6.4") · at f75b666 the only updateTabBarSearchState left is its definition, ViewController.swift:777; no controller sets a tab bar search state, so the tab bar gets no search (git grep). The 2.6.5 beta 7725236 is the same (versions.json:2, ViewController.swift:777) |
|
| In 2.6.4, search starts from the Search field at the top of the chat list | ChatListNavigationBar.swift:380-393 (NavigationBarSearchContentNode(... placeholder ... with component.activateSearch(searchContentNode)) · ChatListControllerNode.swift:1789-1806 (controller.activateSearch(filter: filter, ...)) · Localizable.strings:310 ("Common.Search" = "Search") |
|
| The App Store serves 2.6.4 | Apple lookup API ("version": "2.6.4", "currentVersionReleaseDate": "2026-10-19T06:49:38Z") |

| iPhone and iPad only | All evidence above is the iOS app; the Android app is not covered by this section |
